Home!
We bought Chy and Jaden lil animals wearing Utah sweatshirts to remember this life changing trip!
Home at last! It was a looooong two days in a car with infant and toddler. Jaden did great, except the time his formula was in Grandma and Papa's car and we were in the middle NO WHERE! Thank God they were behind us and we could pull over. Chy, on the other hand, was ready to pull her hair out. She doesn't like being belted in for 5/6 hours! I would love someone to tell me to take a looooong nap, but I guess that comes with age. the last day in Utah, when we got our surprise call that we could go home, we took a drive to the near by ski resorts. attached are some pics! Jaden stayed home with G and P.
Today was the first day I saw a bit of jealousy from Chy. I think that now we are back in her territory, she is seeing the affects of someone else being in the family! I put his bassinet where her lil lazy boy chair goes... how dare I! Well, not to disturb her too much, I found a new spot. Other than that, she has been great. She held Jaden today and loved it. She kept moving my hand away, like "go away".
We had a lot of family come over to meet Jaden yesterday. It was so fun! He is already loved so much! We hope for more visitors this weekend...
I will post more pics of lil man tomorrow, as they are on the other camera!

Jaden and Papa...Jaden came home from the hospital today. He is such a good baby. Barely a peep. We haven't heard him cry, yet. Chy has loved having him home. We haven't seen a jealous streak, yet. She always wants to be in his face. she is learning her boundaries.

It's Official...
What a day...
Everything is signed and official. It was a very emotional day. It is so hard to see someone so sad.
we will get to bring him home tomorrow. We are looking forward to it, as we haven't been able to spend much time with him. There will be more pics posted tomorrow, guaranteed!
We brought Chy to the hospital today. She was singing in the backseat on the way to the hospital "baby bra". I've never heard her sign yet, plus I didn't know she knew where we were headed. She was very interested in him. She kept touching his hair, rubbing his hands and kissing his head. The hospital photographer did a photo shoot with all six of us. ("G", her son, Chy, Jaden, Gord and I). They are priceless pics and glad we have them.

Tomorrow is the big day!
Today was a quiet day around the house. It is nice to not be home and have the guilt of sitting on the couch knowing you should be cleaning or something. There is nothing for me to clean!
We had chaotic dinner tonight with 2 kids under 4! It was nice to see Chy and "G"'s son interact, but maybe not for everyone at the restaurant : ) We took a couple nice pictures. Once we download, we will share.
Tomorrow, the inductions starts about 7. We heard today that I may be able to be in the delivery room. I know things can change, but I would love that.
Chy is doing well. She has gone to bed good the last couple of nights. I did have to go into her bedroom last night about 1AM. I think she was scared being in a different environment. I have to admit it was nice waking up to a little morning breath voice saying "hi momma". I opened my eyes and she was waving, too. I never think to wave to someone that is a foot away, nice personal touch!
Better get some rest.

We made it!
We made it!
It was a long day yesterday, but we made it to cedar city in about 8 hours. After being locked up in a car seat, Chy was insane! She was great in the car, but we paid for it later! She was stealing stuff from the waitress, in a screaming match with another kid across the room, ripping paper, throwing food... you name it. We couldn't get her to bed fast enough.
Today we got up early and drove to Salt Lake. It was an easier drive (shorter). Yesterday's drive was prettier, for sure.
The house wasn't ready for us until about 2. My mom and dad had Chy, since we were on our way to meet Birth mother ("G"). When they came into the house, my mom said Chy ran around the house, opening all the doors and saying "baby bra". I guess she thought he was going to be at the house waiting for us.
We met "G" at an ice cream shop today. The agency was right when they told me she was tiny!! She is a very pretty and sweet girl. She had her son with her and he was so cute. We brought him a goody bag to keep him busy and he seemed to love everything!
Tomorrow night we will meet her for dinner. We are bringing Chy and giving the sitters the night off ; ) I hope to get some pictures at dinner. Thursday morning they will start inducing her about 7:00 AM. They will call us when she dilates to about 6 and we will head to the hospital. Last week she was already dilated to 3, so it should move quickly.

Trip eve!
Tomorrow, we leave. Grandma and Papa have been ready for days. Gord and I are just feeling ready now. What a busy weekend! My sister, Elaine, spent the day with me as my anxiety has taken control of me. It worked out well. I was able to finish nesting as she watched over Chy! We are splitting the drive into 2 days. We should arrive in SLC about noon on Tuesday. We hope to meet birth mom that day. We have had 3 great conference calls with her and are looking forward to spending time with her. We decided to go up a day earlier than planned to make sure we have time with her. BUT, the last time we spoke (Thursday), she advised she was dilated to 3 already. So, we may not be early, you never know! Induction is still set for Thursday at 6:30AM.
Every time we say to Chy "Are we going on a trip?", she shakes her head yes and says "Baby bra". We have to teach her to articulate BRO, not BRA!
I probably will not be able to check in until Tuesday night, when we are settled into our house that we rented.

YEA!
I was holding back on this post until I had the correct details and plan, but I guess this is as good as I am gonna get!
We are matched with a Birthmother! She is due to be induced on 8/11/11. It is right around the corner. We are ecstatic to be adding a baby boy to our family! We have been trying to prepare Chy for the change, but I believe this is going to rock her little world! It will rock it in a good way, she just won’t know it for awhile!
We will be traveling to UT for the birth next week and taking Grandma and Papa along to babysit the queen. : )
I think the blog will serve as a great way to communicate to the masses and share pictures. We will be in UT over a week.
We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers, as this is a very stressful and emotional time for all involved. Adoption is very bitter sweet. Although it is an exciting / happy time for us, it is hard to celebrate knowing there is someone hurting on the other end.

Adding ANOTHER mietz!!
