Visit from Omi and Opa!

This was Chy's first "school pic" I don't know if I ever posted it. Doesn't she look 5??? This is from October.

She let me blow dry and straighten her hair! It was so fun. I always wanted one of those barbie heads to put make up on and do their hair... I got one now!!

AWWW... the weather was fantastic, they didn't spend much time inside!

Great Visit with Omi and Opa! Gord and I had to work and Omi and Opa took on the challenge of watching Chy everyday, all day! They really had some great bonding time. (and only 1 tantrum)

Misc...

Howdy! Just a few things about our girl!!

She got her first bad report card (if you don't count the one that said "she was a little emotional"). this one said that she was pulling hair and wouldn't help clean up the toys. WHAT??? not my child. ; )

She had her first bout with pink eye this week... GROSS! Gotta love daycare.

Her vocabulary is growing... Bubble, Tickle, Momma, Dadda, Papa, More, Mine, Book and Ball! Also, a couple of us heard her say UMBRELLA! A little unbelievable, but she did. Witnessed by Momma, Dadda and Grandma on 2 separate occassions.

She got her first time out (at home) tonight. (She got it at school for pulling hair). This was for throwing things at and hitting Momma in the face... ouch! Gord put her in her chair and faced her to the wall and she sat there with a scowl on her face for a minute. I wanted to laugh, but didn't! : )

Clothes are harder to keep on her. She is often in her birthday suit in the morning!

Showing signs of wanting to go potty. We bought all the stuff - seat, book, stickers etc... Now mommy and daddy need to show the signs of wanting to move forward with this! Today, Chy put her Dora doll on the potty. Maybe she is showing US how it is done.

She has to bring cookies and valentines this year to "school"! How fun is that going to be for mom! Looking forward to that. Her first holiday party outside the home.

If you ask her where is Chy? She points herself in the chest with both pointer fingers really hard.

Omi and Opa will be here in a couple of weeks! FUN FUN FUN!!

Chy climbed out of her crib one night. Got her changing pad off the dresser and laid it in front of the door and fell asleep on it. We had no idea WHY we couldn't push the door open!

Unlike Hanukkah, Christmas was suppose to be 1 day! Well, I don't think it ever really turn out that way. The presents started coming in early. Grandma brought one every time she came to watch Chy. Omi and Opa bought her a climber/slide for the backyard. It is a hit. While most of the country (and Canada) is under snow, we finally get to play outside!! : ) Enjoy some pics from the holiday season!

We just spent a week in San Diego. This was Chy's first time at the beach. It took her a little while to like it, but she did. She was a gem on the trip. The two 5.5 hour rides, sleeping in a pack n play and a couple different places to stay... she did fantastic! She still wasn't great in a restaurant, but I can't ask for everything! It will happen. Gord and I did get a nice dinner out when grandma, papa and aunt Elaine babysat. On the way to dinner we said we were going to have adult convo and not talk about Chy the whole time. Well, we were seated next to a family with 2 small screaming children throwing food, and our convo just went that way. We ended up breaking out the camera so we could look at pics of her :) After dinner we went and had drinks at the hotel bar. Very interesting people watching experience. I was staring at a group of women trying to figure out if they were call girls, cougars or rich yachty people (sorry no pics of them).

Quick update on Chy - She is saying "mama and dada". Sleeping great. Brushing her teeth. cleans up the bath when finished.... GREAT. Climbs and stands on the back of the sofa... NOT GREAT! Starting to love books (doesn't just eat them). Understands just about everything you say to her... "Nigh, Nigh" runs to the stairs. "Clean up" puts toys away. "wanna eat?" runs to her chair. It is so fun to truly interact with her. She is also getting the hang of crayons. that will be fun, I love coloring :)
