Wow... May has flown by. I guess I'm not getting to the computer much to blog : ) I must have a 1 yr old! When they say you can't take your eye off your toddler, they mean it. THEY are smart whoever THEY are, huh?

Chy is all over the place. She is taking about 10 steps at a time. Not really sturdy on her feet, but she is getting there. She is getting picky with food. We try everything, but she just wants bananas and avocados. Her sleep pattern is perfect (knocking on wood). She sleeps about 12 hours at night and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

My second mother's day was awesome.

She got her first hair cut tonight. Remember when I said she is all over the place? Remember that when you see the pic of her hair. It wasn't my fault. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for a professional to do the same cut. SHE MOVED! Still adorable, though.

Gord and I have officially started the process for #2. We are already exhausted might as well add a second : ) We are just waiting for the approval from our social worker doing our home study and we will update our profile and contact the attorneys.

Saturday was the birthday party! It was so fun and Chy enjoyed herself. Like her mom and dad, she doesn't mind being the center of attention : ) It was so nice that Gord had some family in town. Here are some pics to enjoy...

OK, as I am preparing for Chy's family party on Saturday, I ran across video from the hospital and first days home. I can't believe how small she was! I had to share this... Also, I slipped in the the video of Chy waking up on her b-day. We REALLY are annoying to her. I can barely take us. I hope she appreciates us someday : )

Happy 1st Birthday, Chy!

Just a year ago, to the minute, I got a call from F’s attorney letting us know that we needed to get to the hospital! I called Gord, and even though he didn’t believe me, he got in the car anyways and came to get me! We were on our way to parenthood. We were excited, numb, guarded, anxious etc… The normal feelings : ) That day we experienced the most beautiful birth… Chylar taking her first breath. Her strong little body ready to get out and start living! We had no idea how much our lives would change and here is a sample…

We can no longer…

Play computer games for long periods of time
Go to movies
Take naps
Sleep in
Fine dine
Take long showers
Get laundry done (it is never done)
Stay up late
Take off for a marathon shopping sprees
Stay organized
Do Laughlin weekends
Do much of anything without planning it out

With that said, we also can’t

Take our eyes off of her
Wait for her to wake up
Wait for her next stage
Stop taking pics and video.
And most of all… We can’t imagine our lives without her

Chylar - You have changed our lives for the better and we love you sooo much… Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!!!

We are on the countdown to the big 1st birthday! (again, I can't believe it). Anyway, I just downloaded some pics and found this video of C and her Valentine (what a coincidence, he was mine too : )) and this great video of her enjoying some food! I think you would say enjoying, you decide. lol Maybe this is an indication of what we will see with her cake : )

Finally, I have had some time to download, while the kids are napping (Ok, G isn't technically a kid). I have wanted to post this sledding video since we have been home from Canada!! I love Chy's face. I feel I can tell what she is thinking, but it has too many bad words to write : )

Just a little update.. Chy has 8 teeth (might I add, 8 VERY SHARP teeth, that she isn't afraid of using). Can wave bye bye. Can show us how big she is. Pulls herself up and romes around the furniture. Eats bunches of big people food. Plays peek-a-boo. Still can't clap (Grandma is working hard on this one!). Stops in her tracks when music/singing comes on the TV (that's my next American Idol). She has a deafening screech (mostly while she is eating) She gets very excited!! That's my girl. All I all she is right on schedule with everything she is suppose to be doing. She is a text book baby : ) I can't belive she is will be 1 next month. This was the fastest year of my life! We have enjoyed every minute of it.
